Welding Shop and Assembly Area
Waste Gas Fabricating Co. offers all styles of advanced welding including MIG and TIG welding for all your steel fabrication needs.
Our full service steel fabrication plant has the equipment and the ASTM-certified welding capability to perform traditional stick welding, Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding, and the most advanced, Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding. Each process has certain capabilities and advantages, depending on its application. Our certified welders are experts in carbon steel, stainless and aluminum welding. We have the expertise to perform highly crafted and precise work with every welding process and the experience to know which one is best for each project.
MIG Welding
Its versatility and ease of use makes it a popular choice for many different industrial applications. Compared to TIG welding, MIG welding, or metal inert gas, welding is often used to join large and thick materials together, using a consumable wire that is both the electrode and filler material.
MIG welding is faster than TIG welding, creating shorter production times for welds and, subsequently, lower costs.
TIG Welding
TIG, or tungsten inert gas, welding is a versatile technique that is capable of joining a wide range of small and thin materials, using a non-consumable tungsten electrode alongside an optional, separate filler rod. TIG provides greater control over the welding operation, TIG welds are stronger, more precise, and more aesthetically pleasing than MIG welds. Although the process takes longer and therefore has a higher cost.
